Ahead of the crucial meeting of the Congress Legislature Party in Punjab, former state party president Sunil Jakhar on Saturday said that the way Rahul Gandhi has chosen to solve the embroiled in the party’s state unit has not only mesmerized the Congress workers. Rather, but the foundation of Akali Dal has also been shaken.

He tweeted, “Kudos to Sh @RahulGandhi for adopting the Alexandrian solution to this Punjabi version of the Gordian knot. Surprisingly, this bold leadership decision to resolve the Punjab Congress imbroglio has not only enthralled congress workers but has sent shudders down the spines of Akalis.”

Significantly, a meeting of the Congress Legislature Party of the state has been called on Saturday evening on the instructions of the All India Congress Committee (AICC) amid the ongoing tussle in the Punjab unit of Congress. Congress general secretary and in-charge of Punjab affairs Harish Rawat announced in this regard on Friday night.

There is also speculation about a change of leadership due to this meeting of the Legislature Party in the backdrop of the ongoing tussle between Chief Minister Amarinder Singh and State Congress Committee President Navjot Singh Sidhu for the past several months. But, the party official didn’t say anything about this.
