The central government will soon start the mapping work for this. After which these five schools will be known as Sainik Schools. Students Demands
As soon as the news came out, the former and present students of Navodaya started opposing it. The main reason for their protest was the fees of Sainik school. Sainik School fees are very high, and many students cannot afford it. Most of the students in Navodaya school come from underprivileged families, and they cannot pay the fees of military school. So, that many needy and deserving students will not get an education.
There was no expectation that such a moment would ever come Navodaya Vidyalaya called Jannat would also be auctioned. (उम्मीद नहीं थी कभी की ऐसा क्षण भी आएगा, जन्नत कहे जाने वाले नवोदय विद्यालय को भी नीलाम किया जायेगा.) One student wrote on Social media.
Navodaya students say that “the government should open Sainik School but separate from Navodaya. And, if the government wants to convert JNVs into Sainik Schools, then the fees of Sainik School should be the same as that of Navodaya.”
