2022 TVS iQube
The price of the basic variant of the 2022 TVS iQube electric scooter is Rs 98,564 (after on-road, FAME II, and Delhi government subsidies). Its S variant costs Rs 1,08,690 (after on-road, FAME II, and Delhi government subsidy). However, the company has not disclosed the price of its top-of-the-line ST variant. The ex-showroom (Delhi) prices of Standard and S variants are Rs 1,66,564 and Rs 1,76,690 respectively. The scooter comes with ten color options. Bookings for iQube and iQube S variants have already begun, while pre-bookings for iQube ST will be opened later. Both the variants available for pre-booking will be made available in 33 cities and will be available in 52 additional cities later.
Talking about the powertrain of TVS iQube, its base and S variants will offer a range of 100 km on a single charge, while its top variant, ST will have a single-charge range of 140 km. All three variants exceed the range of the current iQube, which gave 75 km on a single charge. At the same time, in terms of top speed, the base and S variants have a top speed of 78 kmph, while the ST variant will be able to catch a top speed of 82 kmph. Customers will have the option of choosing the chargers, which include 650W, 950W, and 1.5kW capacity chargers.
The base variant of the 2022 TVS iQube gets a 5-inch TFT display, which supports turn-by-turn navigation assist. At the same time, the iQube S gets a 7-inch TFT display fitted with similar features. However, this variant also gets a joystick with the display, through which the rider can navigate the features easily. We can control music and notifications through this.
Talking about the top variant, iQube ST, it also gets a 7-inch display like the S variant, which comes with a joystick. It also supports Voice Assist and TVS iQube Alexa Skillset.
Bajaj Chetak
Bajaj has once again brought back its two-wheeler electric scooter from the 90s, the Chetak, with modifications. The Bajaj Chetak EV Premium model costs Rs 1,53,298 (ex-showroom). We can book the Bajaj Chetak electric scooter online through its official website. Bajaj Chetak EV is currently being made available for booking in some cities. The company started the Bookings from Pune and Bangalore. After this, the company also opened its booking in Aurangabad, Mysore, and Mangalore. Now electric scooter is available in many cities.
The motor of the Bajaj Chetak EV comes with a 3800W power rating, which can generate 4,080W peak power. The company claims that this scooter can cover a distance of 90 km on a single charge, and its battery takes 5 hours to charge completely.
Its top speed is 70Kmph. Its digital instrument cluster looks very modern and supports Bluetooth connectivity, GPS, and navigation. In this, you also get a USB charging port, parking assist, an anti-theft system, and geofencing support. One of its specialties is the reverse mode, through which you don’t have to use your feet to push it back.
Ather 450X / Ather 450 Plus
Indian startup Ather currently has a modern electric scooter in its portfolio, the Ather 450X. It also has an ‘affordable’ variant, which the company calls the Ather 450 Plus. Along with the price, they both have a different range. Ather is an Indian Electric Vehicle Manufacturing Start-up. The ex-showroom price of both the 450X and the 450 Plus in Delhi is Rs 1,71,520. However, the on-road price of the 450X differs after adding a performance upgrade kit and FAME II and state subsidies to both the models.
Ather 450X and 450 Plus come with many features. The 450X offers three riding modes, Eco, Ride, and Sport. There is a difference in range between these three. The user can get a range of 85KM in Eco Mode, 70KM in Ride Mode, and 60KM in Sports Mode. It has a battery of 2.9kWh capacity. Its 6kW power motor generates 26Nm of torque. The company claims that this scooter can run 15KM on a charge of 10 minutes.
The other model is the Ather 450 Plus. In this variant, you get the highest range of 70KM. Its motor comes with a 5.4kW capacity, which generates maximum torque of 22Nm. In this variant, 10 minutes of charge can give you a ride of 10KM. These scooters are equipped with reverse mode, GPS and navigation, a central locking system, and parking assist. In the 450X variant, you also get additional features like Bluetooth connectivity, call alerts, and music control.
Ola S1 Pro
The price of the Ola S1 Pro electric scooter is Rs 1,39,999 (ex-showroom). However, this price may vary depending on FAME II and state subsidies.
A peak power of 8.5kW is available in Ola S1 Pro. We can upgrade the scooter via an “Optional Performance Upgrade Accessory” with a 3.97kWh battery with a claimed range of 181km. Ola S1 Pro gives a top speed of 115kmph. It has three riding modes – Normal, Sports, and Hyper. It can accelerate from 0-40 kmph in 3 seconds.
The Ola Electric does not get a physical key, instead, it uses the paired smartphone as a proximity key. Essentially when that phone is nearby, the electric two-wheeler will automatically lock or unlock. These two-wheelers also come with a 7-inch touchscreen that runs on multiple microphones, an AI speech recognition algorithm, and MoveOS developed by Ola Electric. There are 110/70 R12 tires at both the corners, along with rear mono-shock suspension and front single fork suspension.
