Electric scooter maker Ather Energy (Ather Energy) disclosed the launch of its latest Ather 450X Gen 3 electric scooter. The new Ather Electric scooter introduces the next generation of its highly successful 450 platforms and now comes with a host of new features that enrich its performance and riding resilience. The Ather 450X Gen 3 is furnished with a bigger and more powerful 3.7 kWh battery that allows the user to ride in ‘Warp’ (Ather’s high-performance mode) during every ride.
The battery is also 25 percent bigger than the prior generation, which claims to deliver an ARAI-certified range of 146 km and a True Range of 105 km.
Ather 450X Gen 3 battery and ride modes
The Ather 450X Gen 3 gets a larger and more powerful battery pack which gives the rider more satisfactory performance through better thermal management. Even when operating in high-speed mode, the 450X Gen 3 maintains its power throughout the journey, regardless of the road, temperature, or load.
Now riders will be capable of experiencing steep climbs even in ‘Ride’ mode, giving them the same excitement without compromising on the range. Also, the 450X Gen 3 gets a new Smart EcoTM Mode. Thereby, riders can enjoy moving in ‘Ride’ mode with a range of ‘Eco’ modes. The upgraded version gets five ride modes – Warp, Sport, Ride, SmartEco, and Eco. The maximum power output is 6.2 kW (8.7 hp) in Warp mode.
TPMS for better range
The Ather 450X Gen 3 remains the benchmark of ride quality and boasts a first-of-its-kind all-aluminum frame in the segment, completely balanced weight distribution, and low center of gravity. To improve performance, the 450X gets wider rear tires, designed to provide a better grip during leaning turns and shorter braking distances. This is achieved by a new compound and improved tread profile, delivering 22 percent better grip in all weather conditions.

To ensure ride consistency and handling remain at an optimum level in the vehicle, Ather has introduced Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). It is also important to keep the TPMS range as low tire pressure increases the pressure on the battery. While the TPMS is an accessory, it is an essential fitment to ensure everyday handling, performance, and consistency across the range.

Coming to the user interface (UI/UX), the new Ather 450X Gen 3 now gets an upgraded dashboard with a re-architected Ather stack and an upgraded 2GB of RAM. It will enhance the performance of memory-intensive applications and will offer voice commands, multi-language support, heavy graphics, deep diagnostics, and more. An advanced RAM also means better performance in high temperatures.
The flagship variant of the Ather continues to offer a massive 22-liter boot space delivering the customer with ample space in the Gen-3. The scooter gets a 7.0-inch touchscreen system, front and rear disc brakes with Ryzen, 12-inch alloy wheels, a telescopic fork, and a belt drive system.

The 450X Gen 3 electric scooter has been launched in Bangalore at an ex-showroom price of Rs 155,657. From July 20, 2022, it will be open at all the company’s experience centers across the country. Ather Energy is getting a great response for its e-scooter range and continues to grow at 25 percent quarter-on-quarter. The company is rapidly extending its manufacturing operations, along with its retail sales network across the country. Ather has developed its retail footprint to 36 cities with 41 retail stores and plans to expand to 150 experience centers in 100 cities by 2023.
