Brisbane International 2024 Tournament is set to feature an impressive lineup of nine Grand Slam singles champions, making it one of the most formidable fields in the tournament’s history. Rafael Nadal, Andy Murray, Naomi Osaka, Aryna Sabalenka, Elena Rybakina, Jelena Ostapenko, Victoria Azarenka, Sofia Kenin, and Sloane Stephens are among the stellar names commencing the 2024 season in Brisbane.
The men’s draw boasts four top-20 players, including world No.8 Holger Rune, alongside world No.14 and 2017 Brisbane International champion Grigor Dimitrov, world No.17 Ben Shelton, and world No.20 Ugo Humbert.
The women’s WTA 500 event will showcase eight of the world’s top 20 players, featuring former world No.1 and three-time Brisbane International champion Karolina Pliskova, as well as Brisbane 2020 finalist and world No.12 Madison Keys.
Notably, Pliskova joins Azarenka, Murray, and Dimitrov as one of the four former champions in the star-studded field.
Australian fans will have the opportunity to cheer for local talents such as Alexei Popyrin, Max Purcell, and Jordan Thompson in the men’s singles competition, while Gold Coast star Kimberly Birrell secures a wildcard entry into the women’s singles main draw.
Expressing her excitement, Birrell, who achieved a career-high WTA ranking of No.100 in September, stated, “I’m thrilled to be starting my year playing in the 2024 Brisbane International.”
Brisbane International 2024 Tournament Director Cam Pearson expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “We are thrilled so many of the world’s best players want to come to Brisbane. This is one of the strongest fields the tournament has seen in both the men’s and women’s fields. To have nine Grand Slam champions, 12 WTA/ATP top-20 players, along with so many Australian favorites is great news for the tournament and our fans.”

The stellar lineup of tennis talent is expected to lead to an estimated $10 million in spending, benefiting world-class tourism, accommodation, and hospitality operators.
Brisbane Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner expressed the city’s excitement about welcoming back the tournament. As Australia’s newest sporting capital, Brisbane International 2024 is a major highlight on the city’s events calendar. With up to 180 of the world’s top players, including nine Grand Slam champions, the tournament promises eight days of sensational tennis.
Schrinner emphasized the positive economic impact on local businesses, stating, “It’s fantastic news for Brisbane’s economy, through our hotels, restaurants, and tourism experiences.”
Tickets for the Brisbane International are now available on Ticketmaster, with adult prices starting from $25 and family passes (two adults and two children) from $58. Kids can enjoy free admission on ground passes for the opening two days of the tournament.
