Possible outcomes of Amber Heard and Johnny Depp verdict

By Chitransh Sharma

With the jury continuing its reviews in the Johnny Depp v. Amber Heard defamation trial, supporters of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard are waiting to see who will win in the high-profile trial.

Depp sued Heard for $50 million for defaming him in an op-ed she wrote in 2018. Heard countersued Depp for $100 million for nuisance.

There could be several different consequences once it reaches a verdict.

First, the jury could judge entirely in Depp's favor, meaning Depp would be awarded the entire $50 million he desired in his lawsuit.

Or the jury could rule in favor of Heard, which could result in Depp having to pay $100 million in damages.

There is also a possibility that Depp could win the lawsuit but, through negotiations after the verdict, accept a lower amount than the $50 million he sued for.

If Johnny Depp won and Heard can't pay the entire amount to Depp. Several legal experts have already speculated that Amber Heard may have to file for bankruptcy.
