Disney is not clear about the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise since Johnny Depp was dropped from the role of Jack Sparrow in late 2018.

They announced the series starring Margot Robbie in late 2020, but no news has since materialized about the project.
Robbie’s Pirates of the Caribbean assignment would likely be a reboot or a spinoff instead of a plain sequel.
But Depp’s revealed Pirates of the Caribbean 6 fee proves that the movie would have depended on his star power, meaning the franchise is not necessarily ready to part with its ex-lead for good.
Depp’s position as Jack Sparrow become increasingly prominent in the Pirates of the Caribbean series. In The Curse of the Black Pearl, he was a scene-stealing breakout character.
But above all, Disney confirmed that there would be a Pirates of the Caribbean 6, that is about all the information that fans currently have.
